Gidon Kremer (born February 27, 1947) is a Latvia-born Germany violinist, conductor, music director. Over the past five decades he has established and susutained a worldwide reputation as one of the most original and compelling artists of his generation. He went on to win aseries of prestigiou awards, including first prize in both the 1969 Paganini and 1970 Tchaikovsky International Competitions. His repertoire is unusually wide and strkingly varied. Personally, he is my favorite violinist along with Itzhak Perlman.
