I must admit there are things that I ignore. Some days I’m more open and I have more hope. I try to be grateful and give when I can. But sometimes I fall short. I find myself drowning in other people’s despair. Some days I want to stay inside And pretend that I am somewhere else But I know that it will get me nowhere Ever enough, ever enough, ever enough Ever enough, ever enough, ever enough We try to make amends and we do the best we can But will it ever be, be enough? I like to stay current but sometimes I’m overwhelmed. I wonder if we have to choose and tune out the rest It’s the daily attention, the love and forgiveness That keeps us strong I did a good thing for someone I didn’t know Because I remember when it was me that needed something from someone And a stranger came to my rescue Ever enough, ever enough, ever enough Ever enough, ever enough, ever enough We try to make amends and we do the best we can But will it ever be, be enough? Ever enough, ever enough, ever enough Ever enough, ever enough, ever enough
