歌詞

[Verse 1] It was 5th grade I was introduced to the rap game First rapper I heard, T-Bone was his name An ex-hustler turned Christian, and if you paid attention You could hear it in the words he would say And I was private schooled so I took his raps to school and I'd practice So my friends one music class wanted me to rap it The students loved it but my teacher she was naturally hostile Little did she know the rap I did was actually gospel So I was raised on 116, Trip Lee and Lecrae Cross Movement, Ambassador, Da' T.R.U.T.H. and the Flame Paid attention to the truth they would say and the lyrics they wrote Every song every show, every bar every quote So all that rap became soaked in my head But I didn't know how and when it would show up And as I sit here now with my pad and my pen Lemme tell you how I had to grow up [Chorus] I see the stars, they shining bright in Hollywood Think to myself that I would catch them if I could But I know the Lord has got a plan for me And if it's not in the bright lights then I'm good I'll be where I need to be [Verse 2] It was 8th grade I started listening to KIIS FM Every night I was tuned in to the top 10 I had a tape recorder and liked to pretend I was my own DJ, listing my songs copying how he say Got put on to T.I., Nas, and the Game Then later Hopsin, 2Pac, and Lupe And realized it ain't have to be gospel to have something positive to say All these influencers influenced my brain But up till then I was a choir boy singing and acting Music was my passion and a nice voice I had it But it was junior high and puberty happened; my voice changed And the singing voice vanished, so I said I might as well start rappin' Didn't get serious until I had a teacher Who taught me Logic Pro and how to use all of its features A mixtape and two albums later here I stand So before I take off I'll tell you how it began [Verse 3] My homies ask me is you signed yet? I'm not sure I'm gonna be My girl said I should show my music to some record companies But I ain't chasin' it, so be it if they come to me If it's in God's plan then somebody will discover me It's fun to imagine soaring across the country From the Midwest to the Far East So like a rocketeer I'ma fly up outta here And I don't need weed to take me out this atmosphere All I need is my brainpower, my brainstorms making rain showers The whole world getting wet in the same hour Wet with blood sweat and tears as my pen bleeds My honest feelings that be hittin' your ears So I'ma keep writing these rhymes on my days off Until the day I take off And if my music career never take off, I'm good with that Either way I'ma stay up on the boom and the bap
